Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information is handled when you visit celeb-hotels.com, why it is used and the choices available to you.

About this policy

Celeb Hotels is an independent guide to hotels associated with reported celebrity stays. This policy covers the operation of our website, not the booking services or publications we link to. You can browse without creating an account, and we do not take bookings or collect payment details.

For privacy questions, requests or concerns, contact us at the email address below.

Browsing and security information

When you visit, our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as your IP address, browser details, requested pages, request times and security signals. This helps deliver the site, detect errors, prevent abuse and protect our content. Some of this information may appear in service and security logs.

The site uses HTTPS and access controls to protect information, but no website or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Website analytics

We use an installation of Umami at umami.dbprojects.work to understand visits and improve the site. Analytics can include pages and URLs visited, referring websites, visit times, browser and device information, language, screen size and approximate location.

Umami's standard web tracker does not use analytics cookies. Its default approach processes an IP address and browser information to generate a changing session identifier; the IP address is not stored as a field in the analytics session record. That does not mean no technical information is processed, or that hosting and security logs cannot contain IP addresses.

Cookies, browser storage and fonts

If you change the color theme, we save your choice in your browser's local storage under the name theme. It stays there until you clear it or change it. This preference is not an advertising identifier.

Cloudflare may use security cookies, including cf_clearance when you pass a security challenge. These help distinguish legitimate visitors from automated abuse. Their use depends on the security checks applied to your visit.

Our typeface is loaded through Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google's servers to request font files, which exposes technical request information, including your IP address, to Google.

You can clear local storage and cookies or restrict external requests through your browser settings. Blocking security cookies or external resources may affect the site's appearance or access. We do not treat continued browsing as blanket consent to tracking.

Booking links can take you through CJ, our affiliate network, before reaching Booking.com or Trip.com. Following one of these links sends a request to the tracking service. CJ and the booking provider may process click identifiers, technical information and transaction information, and may use cookies or similar technologies to attribute a qualifying purchase to our referral.

Their privacy notices and choices apply to that processing. Our booking logos are served from our own site; we do not embed the affiliate impression-tracking images supplied with the link code. You can also visit a booking provider independently rather than use an affiliate link.

Links to source articles take you to other publishers. Those sites have their own privacy practices. We do not receive the payment details you submit to an external booking provider.

Messages and published information

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever information you choose to include. We use it to respond, handle requests and keep an appropriate record of the correspondence. Please do not send payment details, passport copies or other sensitive information unless it is genuinely necessary for a request.

Our editorial pages contain celebrity names and quotations drawn from publicly available reporting. We link to the original sources. If you believe information about you is inaccurate or raises a privacy concern, please contact us with the relevant page and details.

Why information is used and who processes it

We use information to operate and secure the website, understand how it is used, maintain our editorial guide, respond to correspondence and administer affiliate referrals. Where UK or European data protection law applies, we rely on legitimate interests for necessary site operation, security, editorial activity and handling correspondence, subject to people's rights. We also process information where necessary to meet legal obligations. Analytics and device-storage activities need to meet any additional legal requirements that apply to them; this policy does not itself provide consent.

Information is handled by the services described above and, where needed, providers supporting our hosting, analytics and email. We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to protect legal rights. Some service providers operate internationally, so information may be processed outside your country. Their linked notices explain their processing and transfer arrangements. Contact us for information about arrangements relevant to data we control.

How long information is kept

The self-hosted Umami service does not automatically expire analytics records unless a deletion process is configured. Its records can therefore remain until they are deleted; we do not promise a fixed automatic deletion period. Hosting and security logs follow the relevant service's configured retention settings.

We keep correspondence for as long as needed to handle the matter and any necessary follow-up, legal or record-keeping requirements. Published reporting and its source references may remain as part of our editorial archive. Your saved theme stays in your browser until you change or clear it.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live and the information concerned, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, restrict or object to its use, receive a portable copy, or withdraw consent where processing relies on it. These rights are subject to applicable conditions and exceptions, including those relevant to journalism and published material.

Send requests to admin@celeb-hotels.com. We may need proportionate information to verify a request. We may not be able to identify a particular visit from cookie-free analytics, and we will not ask you to provide unnecessary personal information simply to identify an analytics record.

You can also complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the site, its providers or applicable requirements change. The date at the top shows when this version was last updated.
