A former bank’s operations courtyard now serves as El Patio, the lobby bar at Four Seasons Hotel Madrid—a telling detail in a hotel that brings seven historic buildings together within Centro Canalejas. Set between Puerta del Sol and Barrio de las Letras, it makes Madrid’s architectural past part of everyday life, from pastries in the old banking courtyard to rooms that pair classical decor with modern detailing. Nearly 1,500 artworks extend through the public spaces, restaurants and spa, including contemporary pieces by Spanish artists. Upstairs, Dani García’s seventh-floor Dani Brasserie opens onto a terrace overlooking the skyline, giving the hotel a second gathering place high above the surrounding streets.
